I used to own a Kiron 28-85mm lens that had highest close-up magnification (around 1:4) at 28mm. I loved taking photographs with it that featured great big blossoms in the foreground and teeny tiny buildings, trees, clouds, and mountains in the background. These days I tend to prefer using longer lenses for close-up work, which produce a very-different look. Perhaps I should try using my current wide zoom lenses to do close-up work of the type I once favored.
